Mr. George Koutsos is a Junior Researcher Civil Engineer.
He earned a 5-year diploma (MEng) in Civil Engineering (NTUA), followed by a M.Sc. in Water Resources Science and Technology (NTUA).
His Master's Dissertation, titled “Large-Scale Evaluation of Machine Learning & Conceptual Approaches in Rainfall-Runoff Modeling” explored the applicability and effectiveness of two advanced machine learning algorithms (LSTM & Transformer) for Rainfall-Runoff modeling.
Mr. George Koutsos research focuses on developing hydroinformatics methods, with applications in water management, flood protection, and climate change resilience.
In addition, he has two years of private sector experience, and since 2024, has been working as a junior researcher in the Department of Water Resources and Environment of the School of Civil Engineering of NTUA.
