Dr., Senior Researcher, Civil Engineer, Expert in stochastic methods for hydrological extremes
Dr. Theano Iliopoulou is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from NTUA (2015-2020) in the domain of stochastic methods for hydrological extremes. She has obtained a MSc. Degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Management from Imperial College London (2014), awarded with a distinction, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA (2013).
Her research interests revolve around rainfall hydrology, hydroclimatic extremes and their spatio-temporal dynamics, as well as novel applications of stochastic methods in water resources and environmental research. She is co-author of 27 papers in international scientific journals, 2 book chapters, and over 70 presentations in international conferences. She has worked as a researcher in several research projects and as an adjunct lecturer in the University of West Attica. Since 2019, she serves as a convener of the session HS7.4 ("Steps towards future hydroclimatic scenarios for water resources management in a changing world") of the European Geosciences Union.
