    Junior Researcher – Environmental Engineer, PhD Candidate, Expert in Flood Modelling and Supercomputing

    Stefanos Vagenas is a Junior Researcher – Environmental Engineer and a PhD Candidate at the Department of Environmental Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace.

    He received his Diploma in Environmental Engineering in 2024.

    During his thesis, entitled “Simulation of Flooding in Thessaly Due to the Mediterranean Storm Daniel”, he conducted extensive flood simulations using supercomputing and High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures.

    His research interests include hydrology, hydroinformatics, flood modelling and forecasting, and high-performance computing (HPC) in hydrodynamic simulations.
